Flowering Growth

In nature, once cannabis detects the diminishing light cycle of the sun it triggers the flowering phase. At this point the plant will transition its energy into producing flowers. It will stop expanding vertically and will seek to be pollenated so that than seeds can be produced.

Growing tips will stop elongating and start producing cannabis flowers.

With our growing method, once the plant reaches approximately 2 foot tall (this will be variety dependent) we will simply stop placing them inside the vegetative grow area. Hawaii's natural light cycle, year round, will flower the vast majority of marijuana plants.

Growing Seedless Buds (Sensimilla)

This is simply the technique of withholding male plants from the garden. If growing from seed the first thing you'll want to do is eliminate the male plants as soon as they can be identified and, in so doing, prevent pollination. This lack of fertilization causes the plant to grow even bigger buds in an attempt to increase its chances of being pollenated.

If the plant was exposed to male pollen early in the flowering process the buds would not get as big as the plant will now put its growth energy into making seeds.

Taking advantage of this information has led to the art of growing massive sensimilla buds, a novelty in the 60s, 70s and 80s but fairly common place in the 21st century.

sensimilla cannabis buds have no seeds.

When you have isolated solid female genetics and are propagating by way of cloning, worrying about male plants will be a concern of the past. The other benefit to growing identical clones is that all the plants will mature at exactly the same time making management far more efficient. Consider 4 different plants from seed... even if from the same parents their genetic pool is so large that they will not behave or even look identical; much like siblings. That would mean that some plants will require more time in the garden to finish interrupting the entire schedule of the batch.

When dealing with just clones you will know, ahead of time, how long they will take to mature which allows you to easily schedule smaller plants to replace them once harvested. As you increase the cycles you grow the more you will learn about the specific clone you are growing.

Clones are the choice of major producers due to the management capabilities and consistency that they allow.
